Kara Says it's an inner circle guy -- Recode's Kara Swisher says that the board could name its candidate as soon as next week with the nod going to Microsoft's own Satya Nadella.

And all signs point to it being Satya Nadella, the executive vice president

of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group.

This isn't surprising news — Nadella has been on tap for the position for quite some time, and he seems to be the most likely internal choice, given he's been with the company for more than 20 years.

The Internet of Things

is right around the corner

Like....

And Walt Mossberg has being testing One of these devices.

For the past few days, every time our front door has opened, or somebody walked through our foyer, a nearby lamp has turned on for a couple of minutes and my iPhone has notified me, wherever I was.

The phone has also recorded when my wife and I,
or our cars, left and arrived back at the house.

"Smart Things" that tells him his dryer is done
with a batch of laundry, even though he's miles away.

Tor-Enabled Point-of-Sale Malware 'ChewBacca'

Stole Credit Card Data from 11 Countries

In December, the security researchers at anti-virus firm Kaspersky Lab discovered a Tor-based banking trojan, dubbed "ChewBacca", that was initially categorized as a Financial trojan, but recently security researchers at RSA have uncovered that 'ChewBacca' is also capable of stealing credit card details from point of sale systems.

‘ChewBacca’, a relatively new and private Trojan, used in the 11 countries as a POS malware is behind the electronic theft. ChewBacca communicates with its C&C (Command and Control) server over the Tor network obscuring the IP addresses of parties.
