Amazon Opens Its Online Store For 3D Printers And Accessories [Updates]
3D printing is still on the edge of mainstream. Amazon’s bold initiative to open a 3D printer and supplies section on its portal is just the push the fledgling industry needs.
So, if you are shopping around for 3D printers and accessories, pay the online store a visit. Presently, Amazon is stocking products like printers, printer filaments, accessories, books, and CAD software. A Fabbster 3D Printer is retailing for $3000,
while on the lower end you can buy a JET – Open Source printer for just around $1000.
Amazon is the second major retailer after Staples’s to jump on the 3D printing bandwagon. Staples started selling The Cube 3D printer through its online channel and will soon bring it to a selected number of retail stores. Amazon probably sees a future market here, and though it may not be using 3D printing technology for any of its operations, you cannot fault it for recognizing a potential opportunity.
