MC2 Post 1664 When Browsers Get Too Big For their Britches

Fixing Firefox's OVERSIZE Problem

The Problem:

Every web page I go to I have to zoom out twice just to get it

back to its normal size now.

Is there also away to just change the webpage zoom and leave the buttons their current size. My brother likes how big the buttons on firefox it self is but not how far it's zoomed in on web pages.

The Solution:

hello, firefox 22 is now respecting the pixel density you've set on a system level in the windows control panel > appearance > display. more information about that is availbale at
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/make-the-text-on-your-screen-larger-or-smaller

if you want to set the text size/pixel density in firefox different from that of your system's settings like it was handled in prior versions, enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named layout.css.devPixelsPerPx. double-click it and change its value to 1.0
(or any other zoom factor that fits your purpose; -1.0 is the default value and will adhere to the system settings).

Note:  I switched My Settings to 1.25, a better fit for my screen size.

Need More Data Storage?

Here's How to fit 1,000 Terabytes on a DVD

From:   http://phys.org/news

Using nanotechnology, researchers have developed a technique
to increase the data storage capacity
of a DVD from a measly 4.7GB to 1,000TB.

Credit: Nature Communications

In Nature Communications today, we, along with Richard Evans from CSIRO, show how we developed a new technique to enable the data capacity of a single DVD to increase from 4.7 gigabytes up to one petabyte (1,000 terabytes). This is equivalent of 10.6 years of compressed high-definition video or 50,000 full high-definition movies.
